New Affordable Housing For St. Cloud Veterans
The Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans (MACV) is proud to announce the purchase, with support from the Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs, of a new eight-unit apartment building in St. Cloud, Minnesota. This acquisition is a significant step towards achieving the organization’s goal of Functional Zero, which aims to end Veteran homelessness in Minnesota.
The new apartment building, located near both downtown and the university, will provide much-needed housing for Veterans who are currently living without shelter and in need of affordable housing. The units will be reserved for Veterans and provide them with a safe and stable place to call home.
“We are excited to expand housing opportunities to Veterans in the St. Cloud area! The proximity to the VA and its St. Cloud treatment center means that Veterans have a safe place to call home that still allows them to access the care and services they need.” – Sara Riegle, MACV Vice President of Property Operations
At MACV, we know the data-driven solution for all Veteran’s experiencing homelessness is creating housing opportunities; more importantly, at MACV, we know finding a permanent place to call home is a statewide challenge. The complexities of homelessness never cause us to give up on any Veteran. As an organization, the reality of Veterans’ barriers, trauma, and employment status in relation to housing access has led us to be agile with the services and types of housing opportunities we offer the Veterans we serve.
